    Hi, Stoopid here

OK, I couldn't do it. I wasn't going to update but I couldn't leave it alone.

So, after a 1.1G download it is saying it is "Installing the upgrades"

Even more stupidly I ventured to look at "Show Terminal"

    It is littered with

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 167
    Major opcode: 144
    Minor opcode: 3
    Resource id: 0x0
    Failed to open device
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 167
    Major opcode: 144
    Minor opcode: 3
    Resource id: 0x0
I knew I shouldn't have looked because now I know it will all end in tears.

    I'll keep you informed....

UPDATE: Well, that went well. AFAICT everything's working. Tux must have been having a good day. 8)

    G'day, GUIGuy,

    1. Good onya for just going for it.

    2. Those X Error messages won't affect you at all. They are just a reference to a Wacom Tablet in your xorg. If you have a bit of a search on the forums, you will be able to easily find out how to stop that.

    3. When you do an update, you must just press the "go for it" button, get beer and hold your breath.

Good lucl with it all. I'm sure you will cope admirably.

    Cheers

Seems to have done no harm. GFX popped up better than ever.

I didn't know there was another way

All in all it went amazingly well compared to some of the disasters in the past.

      cheers.
