Updating failed, can't log in to Kubuntu anymore

I tried updating my Feisty install to Gutsy, but the updater crashed at 53% and left my system unstable. Now KDE is not letting me log in, Is there a way to run a "Repair" tool or something of the sort to be able to recover? I'm downloading the Install CD as we speak.

Also, do you think maybe I can just log into the terminal and just redownload the kde packages to be able to log in? Then I'd just have to redownload the updated packages, right?

Update:
Rebooted and managed to log in. Running into lots of problems, currently running a "dpkg --configure -a" to repair some stuff, hopefully that'll fix some issues. Neither Compiz Fusion nor Emerald are working.
