Gutsy install hangs on laptop install

Downloaded Gutsy this afternoon. Succeeded with a VM install on my XP desktop, so thought I would upgrade my laptop this evening. Unfortunately the install hangs after I enter the host name.

My laptop is a Dell C640 with a Cisco PCMCIA 11g wireless card. It hangs with the card in the slot or out.

I have md5'ed the CD and all is fine. Might hang on a few weeks for bugs to ironed out. Shame, 7.04 installed perfectly from the word go and is brilliant.

Lucky you: I couldn't even begin the installation because Gutsy keeps crashing...
And note that all the previous Kubuntu Live CDs I tried (Breezy, Dapper, Edgy, Feisty) had no problems at all... (though I did have to uninstall Feisty because it kept crashing Firefox, but that's another story).
