Upgrad to Gutsy stalled

After the modifying and preparation and downloading the updates I got an error of three packages could not be downloaded, debconf, x11-common and /var/apt/cache/apt/archives/x11-common_1%3a7.2.5ubuntu10_i386.deb.
It said the update would continue and now it sits at 1% installing and won't move. I'm afraid to cancel out of it. Will I be able to restart it if I do?

The upgrade program mysteriously vanished for me once, and has also stalled once while configuring KDM. The program definitely has some bugs.

So far I don't see the harm in killing it and restarting it again. I highly doubt that leaving it up forever is going to do any good, but I also would try not to reboot your system until attempting to get the upgrade to finish somehow.
