Hey everyone,
I'm a long time Gentoo Linux user, but I have a computer I'm installing in a semi-public place that I need to "Just Work" without any issues. For that, I decided to use Kubuntu, however I'm having an issue installing.
I downloaded the latest beta release (7.10 beta), and burned the ISO to a CD. The CD will properly boot, bringing up the Kubuntu boot screen. When I select "Install Kubuntu" it sits at the screen and I can see the light on the CD-ROM blinking furiously, yet nothing happens. After about 5 minutes, I get an error box that pops up saying "CD Read Error" offering me the option to reboot. This issue also happened with the 7.04 release CD.
I've installed Gentoo on this computer without any problem, though I ran into issues administering it, hence wanting to install Kubuntu. I've read the CD in Gentoo without any problems, so I know the CD-ROM does work.
Any ideas on getting this to work?
