bad usb cable?

I just installed gusty tribe2. The install went fine, at least I thought so.
Boot hangs and give me:
hub:1-0.1.0: Cannot enable port2. Maybe the usb cable is bad?

No updates nothing and it comes up in both modes, normal and recovery.

Any ideas what this means? I have seen this before with feisty but never got an answer to that question.

Well I am booting from a different grub so instead of uuid i used /dev/hdax.

After replacing /dev/hdax with the uuid it booted fine.

God do I hate uuid!
