Sound problems

Hello,

I'm new to Kubuntu and fairly new to Linux and there is a problem I have been having with Debian, PClinux and now Kubuntu.
I cannot get the sound to work on my laptop, I posted this problem on the Debian user forum some time ago and altough they did there best to help me the problem could not be fixed.

I have a Intel HDA soundcard, does anyone has (or had) the same problem.
