Re: Wich Firewire card ...
I think any of them will, they all use only one or two different chipsets in them, and I have not heard of any not being supported, unless it is really old. I bought a generic one a couple years ago, it works fine. I think it has a via chip in it

Re: Wich Firewire card ...
Well guys, I understand what you are saying an trying to tell me but It is simple as that. I made a mistake when bought a web cam (Genuius VideoCAM Eye) that is not working or not working properly under Gutsy and I just do not want to make the same mistake when purchasing firewire card that is not going to work. So the question is very simple. Chipset in my motherboard is Intel 945 and i would like to hear your opinions about what model or producer of the card mentioned above should I buy. Thanks.

Re: Wich Firewire card ...
as I said, any generic or name brand firewire card will work, my generic firewire card has a via chipset in it and does work.
google found this:
http://www.linux1394.org/hcl.php?class_id=2
which is a user-reported list of cards. Note that in some cases, the same card may be listed by different users as 'works' 'works somewhat' or 'works great'
But do note a vast majority listed work
