I had just installed kubuntu 7.10 into my Acer TravelMate 3275 laptop after getting really tired of vista. So far I am pretty impressed with kubuntu and even though I could not get my LAN to work my WiFi works great so Internet is not a problem. Recently I tried to compile the source code for Kde Basket Note and hence the problem started. It had a lot of dependencies and I blindly chose anything with a -dev or -devel for qt and kde and after that every time I try to boot it takes about 5 minutes to come to the login screen. Before the login screen appears a brief message appears on the console which says that it is trying to load my camera that comes built in with the laptop. So I am assuming the problem is there. At this point I do not care if the camera works or not. I just want to disable it and I am finding a hard time doing so. Regarding that I was wondering if anyone can help me out on this regard. My computer specs are: Intel Centrino core 2 duo, 1 gb ram, Nvidia GeForce 7300, 120 gb hdd, and a webcam built in with the laptop lid.
Thanks in advance,
Regards.
