What's the Best Laptop for Kubuntu ???

I'm getting a laptop for my mother. Due to some serious back problems, she's unable to use her desktop computer like she used to. I'm looking for a laptop that is the most hardware compatible with kubuntu? I want to be able to install it from CD and have everything work.

The only necessary optional feature she needs is wifi preferably built in to the laptop instead of a pcmcia card.

Please advise.

If you want, create a short list of laptops you would consider getting your mom, and post them here; I'll check their specs and help you decide which is the most compatible with Kubuntu.

You might want to check out www.system76.com. All of their computers come with Ubuntu preinstalled, and the drivers work for Kubuntu as well.

Likewise Dell also makes some laptops with ubuntu preinstalled and so they would also be fine with kubunu. Personally I use an Asus and have no problems except for the webcam which doesn't work (no driver) but that doesn't bother me.

Dell does ship Ubuntu computers but not to Canadian addresses, whereas System76 will, just in case you live in Canada.
