I have recently bought this multifunction machine and have been able to get printer and copier work correctly. However, I am still not able to get the scanner function working. I went through this :

and couple of others as well with no luck. When I start XSANE a popup window would briefly show up and then disappear. XSANE just would not start. When I run XSANE from terminal as root as suggested in one of those threads, I confirm the warning message but then it would just write the following in the terminal:
*** glibc detected *** xsane: double free or corruption (!prev): 0x08291898 ***
That is it.
When I start Samsung Unified Driver Configurator from the menu, there is an icon "Switch to scanner configuration" but clicking on it would just close the whole configurator.
I bought this machine because it explicitly says it supports Linux. There is even a nice penguin smiling from the box
Any experience with this ?
