    panasonic lumix dmc-fz-50 not recognized

    Hi!
I have just bought a panasonic lumix dmc-fz-50 camera with a 4 Gbyte card in it.
When I connect via USB on the desktop I see a little camera sign, "USB Mass Storage
    Interface", Camera.
The Properties Meta Data say: FZ5@ (not 50!)
Dolphin say: Could not read file
Konqueror say: No Item No File No Folder
DigiKam thinks it is a FZ-20, Connection failed

So, I cannot read the photos of the camera, at all.

Please, help, what should I do?
Do I have to bring the camera back? Or is there a solution?

    Thanks.

    I use Kubuntu GG.

    Greetings,

    Tamas

I have the same problem with Panasonic DMC-FX10. Some suggestions?

      Hello enherma!

      I found a solution!
I have bought a USB card reader. It is really quick, and reads well the card.
This solution, I think, is even better, than connecting the camera directly.

      I hope, it helped.

      Greetings,

I also found the inexpensive USB card read a better way for downloading from the SD card in my camera. I don't like Digikam -- I would rather make my own file system for saving images.
