    need real world users' experience...

need to get a kinda cheapish pc for my nephews.
    they like *ubuntu...
i think i found a suitable one for some decent money.
thing is the retailer here (steg pc, in switzerland) won't let me boot my live to see it working.
so i need to resort to real users' experience
to know if the hw inside that thing could pose any issues.
especially in light of the 32 and 64bit support...
it seems all pretty std stuff to me, but i don't have experience with the 64bit release.
    so...
    anyway...here it goes:

    mainboard:
Foxconn with Intel 945G Chipset, DDR2, SATAII, GLAN

    cpu:
    Intel Pentium Dual D925, 3.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2x2MB Cache, LGA775

    hd:
    250GB, SATA-II, 7200rpm (Samsung or Seagate)

    graphics card:
Intel GMA 950 Integrated Graphics (on Board)

    wired ethernet:
    Gigabit-LAN 10/100/1000 Realtek 8110SC

    cd-dvd:
    DVD-Recorder 20x DVDRW +/- R, +/-RW Lite-On 20A3H (20x DVDRW. 48x CDRW)

    ram:
    1GB

thank you all in advance for your help

    google is your friend

But honestly, I'd choose a friendlier retailer who will at least let you boot a live CD. The best and only reliable way.

I can guarantee a "good-to-go" for everything except the motherboard; the only reason being I'm not very familiar with Foxconn MB's (I'm not saying it won't work, just that I don't know)

Edit: Google is definitely your friend
      Asus G1S-X3:
      Intel Core2 Duo T7500, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT, 4Gb PC2-5300, 320Gb Hitachi 7k320, Linux ( )
