Use Envy installer even for non NVidia/ATI adapters

    Hi!
I'm quite new to Linux but am very happy with it so far.
Have been trying to get my graphics adapter to work better. However, the only xorg configuration that works is Vesa. If I'm running Vesa I can't run applications that demand above basic graphics performance (e.g. games like x-moto etc.) though.

In the forum you mention the Envy installer a lot. My impression is that it's intended for Nvidia/ATI adapters only?
Is there any help for my rather simple S3 adapter? I have a cheap onboard S3 VIA Chrome9 HC IGP.

    Any advice?

    Sad news

Envy is only for ATI and Nvidia drivers.

I recall seeing quite a few posts on the subject of S3 VIA drivers on Ubuntu Forum -- I would suggest a search there. If you find a really good solution, it would be great to have it posted on this forum.
