Hi: I have a dual boot system consisting of an AN8-SLI-Deluxe ASUS MB, 2G memory, a Samsung SATA 160GB HD, etc. I have both Windows XP and KUBUNTU 7.10 loaded and working. I have a WinRadio 305 internal board, which Linux simply doesn't recognize as being there. I have all the WinRadio drivers, linradio-toolkit-module2.4.19, and associated lib files. Still no luck. Is there something I have to program to force Linux to recognize the board? By the way, WinRadio works fine on Windows, but I have a nasty thing against MS. Any help will be appreciated!! Ron

Re: How do I get KUBUNTU to recognize my WinRadio board?
Hmm, this uses the ISA bus... could be tricky. Not much uses that any more (and there haven't been any new motherboards with it for years). Not to mention ISA cards are a pain to work with in the first place.
Well, I don't have an ISA bus, so I'm afraid I can't help you too much there, but I can suggest you read the man pages for isadump(8), i2cdump(8), and i2cdetect(8).
Just for the heck of it, how about posting the output of "lspci" and attaching the output of "lshw"? Something might show up...For external use only.

Re: How do I get KUBUNTU to recognize my WinRadio board?
Hi: Thanks for the reply. The A8N-SLI-Deluxe is an AMD 64 MB with PCI slots. It is still on the market. Somehow, I need to make Linux recognize PCI=0x180 as being the card. The closest I've come is with the Kradio add on. As I said, I've loaded the linradio-toolkit-module2.4.19 Once, it told me I was missing the liblinradio.so.1.0 file in /usr/lib, but I can't find such a file for download in any of the repositories. Maybe it is built by another file??
Thanks
Ron

Re: How do I get KUBUNTU to recognize my WinRadio board?
Snowhog: Thanks. I had already downloaded the file and used 'alien" to build. I've discovered one strange thing: most of the files are now in "/" and not in /usr/. I did print out the "Readme" and "Install" pages and they have a lot of info. Don't have it working yet, but I guess anything worthwhile requires a lot of work. Besides, we will read no "readme" file before its' time.
Thanks Ron
