strange problem with resolution

I have a strange problem.I change my monitor with samsung 2234bw 22".Before i have samsung 17".The strange is that the system cant keep the correct resolution and always i have to change it manual.i try to reinstall driver,write with hand xorg.conf,reconfigure xserver but nothing happen.Here is my xorg.conf file

i have notice that in the first password screen i have the correct resolution but after it change to 1280x1024.I think is something with kde i dont know what

I have some news with this.I put in monitor settings Lcd panel 1680x1050 widescreen.Now i have wrong resolution in password screen but correct resolution inside system.Mad and crazy. :-X I think it is a bug and something happen with nvidia driver or with my type of monitor.Any idea?

I would first back up your xorg.conf file, then do this:

1. In a terminal window:

sudo nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals --composite

and then Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to restart the X server.

Assuming you have a good display (after login), then:

2. In a terminal window:

sudo nvidia-settings

and when the utility opens, click the "X Server Configuration" item, and on that panel click "Detect Displays", then make sure the resolution is set correctly for your normal desktop, leave the refresh rate set to "Auto", and click the "Save to X Configuration File" button at the lower right, and save it.

If your login screen is still messed up after this procedure, but your desktop resolution looks good, I think you'll have to research the "splashy" posts here or on Ubuntu Forum and figure out how to change the login splash screen, such as this:
