Well, nothing really to report. Put the new card in, booted everything went fine. Rebooted to check XP. Rebooted back into Kubuntu 
and then there were a few problems. xorg.conf was rewritten I guess by Kubuntu, but didn't transfer over some settings. OK, I edit it and put those back in and changed the driver back to nvidia. Didn't like that 
. Did a "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" and I'm back! 
The new xorg.conf file looks like it did when I edited it, but for some reason it didn't like it!
Anyway, believe it or not, I can actually tell the difference between the 5200 and 5500! Yeah!!!
