Epson CX5500 driver help pls.
I'm using Kubuntu 7.10.
I purchased a USB Epson CX5500 all in one printer.
In system settings >Printer >add printer it shows a USB printer correctly named CX5500. When I select the Epson driver box, it doesn't show the CX5500 as an option in the models available.
I checked this web site http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_spc.html
and there is
- Image Scan! for Linux & Photo Image Print System available .
I downloaded the files which for Debian and are a .rpm. source file
I converted some with alien to a .deb and used the package installer to install it. But there is also a ' pips-scx4450-Redhat9-3.0-CLGE.tgz', this after extracted contains pips-scx4450-Redhat9-3.0-CLGE.install
I'm still a newbie
"So far, so good" I thought but no joy so I need help on this in easy speak pls.
