ethernet lost

thank God i have a backup computer. my main computer was doing fine (its an amd board) then i turned it on and had no image just text. i couldn't figure out what commandline to use so i reinstalled my 7.10, now i have image but my ethernet is disabled. i don't know what to do to turn it back on PLEASE HELP i miss my puter.

If you boot from the LiveCD, instread of your hard drive installation do you have network access there?

i used a cd to install my 7.10

Can it see your ethernet card?
(if you are unsure of the answer then run the command 'ifconfig' and post the results)
