    fsck needed on USB drive

    I have a 250 Gb LaCie with a load of backup data on it. When I did a clean install to 7.10 and went to rrestore it gives an error when automounting. It says that it gets a timeout when trying to read the contents into Dolphin or Konqueror. It normally identifies as sdc1, but automount grabs it and mounts it to /media and won't let me use it for fsck. I would like to run a manual fsck on it, but fsck gets a message that the device is opened exclusively by another program. Can I shutoff automount for this device and do a manual mount and fsck?

    Re: fsck needed on USB drive {solved}

    It looks like I have a bad USB board. Sorry to bother people.
