    uid1000 error and video problems

I triple boot Kubuntu 7.1 64 with Ultimate Windows Vista 64 and Xandros 4 Home Premium.

I have two problems I cannot figure out. I am still a newbie when it comes to linux and really know very little about it.

    1. First whenever I want to see other drives, I get hal-storage-fixed-mount refused uid 1000 error. I can only see the drive that has Kubuntu installed on it. I cannot even see the drive with Xandros Linux on it. I found a fixed that required a NTFS installation but am unable to open the NTSF configuration tool.

    2. Also I run a dual monitor and have a VisionTek Radeon X1300 512 video card. I like one big screen instead of having two monitors that shows the same. I am able to make the changes but the apply is greyed out.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

that did not work for me. AS I stated in my original post " I found a fixed that required a NTFS installation but am unable to open the NTSF configuration tool."

My bad. I missed that. :P

What tool are you referring to? The 'normal' way is to install via Adept Manager, ntfs-conf:

        ntfs-conf

Enable/disable write support for any NTFS devices

This program allow you to easily configure all of your NTFS devices to allow write support via a friendly gui. For that use, it will configure them to use the open source ntfs-3g driver. You'll also be able to easily disable this feature.
