No Audion on Dell Inspiron 1501

Hello,
my audio is not working since I installed Gutsy Gibbon on my Dell Inspiron 1501. Funny thing is that it worked fine on Fiesty. According to Vista, I have SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, Sigmatel STAC92XX C-Major HD Audio Driver. Is there anything I can do to revive my audio? Or should I just go back to Fiesty?

Laptops + Linux = sound problems (a lot of the time).

The first (and easiest) attempt to fix, is to add acpi=off to the boot kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst

Open a konsole shell and type:

kdesu kate /boot/grub.menu.lst

Add acpi=off to the first kernel line after ## ## End Default Options ##
Save and reboot.
