    Sound, what to do?

    OK.

First off, I need to know whether or not either an: AC97 On-Board soundcard OR a Soundblaser X Fi Xtreme Audio are supported.

If so, where can I find drivers for either (for some reason the files aren't existent anymore at realtek's site)
I've heard ALSA works similarly, and I also have heard someone got the Xtreme Audio working by compiling and installing the drivers manually.
If anyone knows how to do this please tell?

    From http://www.alsa-project.org/main/ind...-Creative_Labs
Soundblaster X-Fi: [Unsupported] [PCI] Card delivered to developers. Completely new architecture. Creative actively preventing support due to no datasheets being released to ALSA developers. Reverse engineering work not started due to lack of time.

No idea on AC-97 as not sure what brand that is but if you know then check out it out at http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Main
