    nVidia binary driver

I have just installed kubuntu 7.10. I have also installed the nVidia binary driver for my Geforce Go 6600 128 mb. The display settings show the card as having 256 mb of ram. I can set the refresh rate to 51 and get a display of 1280x800 widescreen, which is really nice. However, whenever I restart the refresh rate goes down to 50, and I have to set it back to 51 to get the display to fit on the screen again (if I leave it at 50 the display scrolls around the screen as I move the mouse and it looks very ugly. I have no idea why Kubuntu insists on 50/51 for the refresh rate, when Windows will give me 60 an Suse has given me 60 as well in the past.

I am running on a Toshiba laptop. Anyone know how I can get X to remember my refresh rate?

    Try
    Code:
    sudo nvidia-settings
in a console window, and set the resolution and refresh rates. Click the "Save to X Configuration File" button, click "merge" and "save", and that should do it.
