You can use Restricted Drivers Manager
KMenu -> System Settings -> Advanced -> Restricted Manager.
It will install fglrx 8.37.6 and it edits xorg.conf:
What it did:
Changing: Driver from ati to fglrx.
and inserting
in the xorg.conf.
But
Xorg.conf needs Option "VideoOverlay" "on" in the Section "Device"
Or you could download latest drivers from AMD and install them.

Tried Method 2: Install the 8.40.4 Driver Manually and everything is working
