Change to Kfind - NOT search a directory large data disks

Kfind should have a mechanism to tag /media (or other directories) to not be included in search. I have 3 Linux dist + XP + 220GB data on 3 disks totalling 360GB. When I do a search starting at / (mainly because I am new to Linux) to look for things, the search goes on for a long time, I can unmount the other OS drives but I want to keep the 200GB with Kubuntu and may want to search it at times.

Thanks for the great OS. I think I am going to settle on Kubuntu. I'm also showing other people and they are very interested in Linux now.

In a konsole type "man kfind". Then look at "kfind --help-all".I think you can do what you want with a judicious selection of starting directory and searchpath. If you're still stumped you can do things the old fashioned way (when we typed twenty pages barefoot in the snow only to be confronted with a KSR-22 teletype), Look at "info find"

hehehe teletype w/ punch tape to store programs - STILL removing chad from my shoes after 30 years. Kids today are spoiled with this new-fangled picture stuff

It's nice to see another oldtimer on kubuntu, after all these kids who never seen a teletype or an IBM card!
