    User switching made easy

This may not be an issue for everyone but here goes:

Why not have a user switching method right on the task bar. Right click on the user option and get a pop up list of users you can switch to.

Currently I run my system with a single user because getting people in my house to log out and login as a different user is a little time consuming when they just want to pop into msn for a few minutes. By having a button they can click to switch over to their own settings (use their own /home folder, their own defaults etc.) rather quickly and without having to log out and log back in.

Fast, simple, and most importantly obvious user switching would be a nice touch.

Perhaps this already exists and I'm just unaware of it, but if that's the case it's another issue.

      1. K Menu -> Switch User -> user. That's just probably just 1 mouse click more than if there was a panel applet. Surely that's not too hard?

      2. http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show...?content=26150
Found that in kde-apps. It has been there since 2006.

      Hope that helps a bit.

If the user is already logged in, a simple alt+F7 (or higher) will instantly switch to that user.
