    Updating Adept

    Yeah, Feisty is in pre-alpha. Finally after getting the latest updates it actually remembers my network settings! And I also got a new icon on my tray, KNetwork Manager, says disconnected. We're getting there

    Anyway have anyone had any luck updating the Adept? It wants to remove the apt-index-watcher and update 8 Adept packages. However one does try to overwrite a PNG and the update stops.

    this was a known bug. i believe its been "fixed" now by removing the icon since its already in another adept package.

      Would you mind telling me what you mean with <"fixed" now by removing the icon> ?

      I renamed the file

      /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/128x128/actions/adept_notifier_warning.png

      but I still get the same error as mentioned in the first post.

            I had the same problem last night when running a dist-upgrade, the above fixed it (cheers all) - also had a problem with vim which was fixed using the same method.

              i should have said picture, but its essentially an icon. this file was removed from this specific package in order to resolve that problem. the file was already in another adept package anyway.

              this was fixed for me a while ago. several days ago at least if i'm not mistaken. which version of the adept packages do you have installed now? mine is 2.1.2ubuntu10 and all works as it should, basically. but there is still the update problem that shows up saying there is a new version of kubuntu available when there isn't and then if you click next adept crashes. so i have to update via console with apt-get or aptitude and then i run adept updater cuz aptitude seems to want to uninstall more packages than i'd like. some that are essential. but i just assume that is a feisty dependency problem that will be worked out eventually.

              EDIT: nvm. i didn't read the whole thread through first, it appears you've resolved the problem anyway.
