I downloaded Beryl from the repository to further torture myself with software that I really don't understand . Anyway, I rebooted after the download and everything happened as normal except when signing in. I signed in at the Kubuntu screen (the one shown after a reboot) and hit enter but the screen went blank for a moment then returned to the sign in screen. I signed in several times with the same result - always returns to the sign in screen.
I have a hunch as to what the problem might be. I may be running quite low on hard drive space which may be causing me issues. How can I remove the beryl files I installed without launching KDE?
Hopefully, this can be done from the command line prior to signing in. I'm dual booting with Windows XP and 7.04.
Thanks,
m
