    MP3 support

When I try to play an MP3 file in Amarok it says MP3 not supported, click here to download support. I tried this and all I get is the busy icon ad infinitum.

Amarok installed on Mandriva or SuSe plays MP3 no problem.

    Any ideas ?

How to: Get commercial DVD playback in Kaffeine

This should help you with mp3 support as well. Regardless, it will give you commercial DVD playback. It includes the steps for adding the non-free medibuntu repositories, which you have to have to get the codecs needed.

Additionally, check to see that the following packages (Adept Manager) are installed:

      kdemultimedia-kfile-plugins
      libarts1-mpeglib
      libgmp32c
      libk3b2-mp3
      liblame0

This is one item that was fixed in Gutsy -- when you click the "add mp3 support" button, it actually adds mp3 support!
