    Adept is hallucinating!

    Arg. Okay, heres the deal.

I installed the package sun-java5-jre. Adept crashed when it asked for me to accept the EULA. I started it up, and went to the same package to see if i could resume installation or something. Now, the package reads as "upgradeable". Well, I figured out I didn't need it, so I went to remove it. i couldn't. Adept said it couldn't commit the changes because it would break a package or something. Fine. I tried a purge. Same thing. So I went into console, tried a forced purge, and Konsole tells me it doesn't exist.

So, my conclusion is that Adept is seeing a package that failed to install, i.e. hallucinating. I've tried every removal command I can find, but Konsole says that it doesn't exist, and Adept says it can't remove or purge it. Meanwhile Adept is completely broken, I can't install, remove, or upgrade anything.

    Please help me!

Close Adept (if it's running) and open Konsole. Enter these commands:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install -f
    Code:
    sudo dpkg --configure -a
