I tried every source I could think of to solve this problem and failed. A gentleman sent me the cure for my problem from a Kaffeine forum source. It is as follows:
I don't know any commands, which can fix the problem for you, however I hope
we can fix it by the kaffeine UI. I suppose that when you start kaffeine
(by icon or by issuing "kaffeine" command), the dialog window stating that
it's impossible to bind to the info socket appears. Then, normally press OK
button, located in the dialog. In my case, a main kaffeine window then
appears. I hope it is true for you too. When the window is there, go to the
Settings menu and select "Configure Kaffeine player". A new window will
appear, with icons in the left column. Click on the "DVB Client" icon.
The right side of the window will show a checkbox "Enable DVB Client".
Either uncheck it, or fill in a proper IP address below (it needs to be done
only if you have more machines with Kaffeine on your LAN, where at least one
is equipped with a DVB receiver and thus capable of broadcasting received
channels to the LAN). Then you should know the broadcast address of your
LAN connection (you can find it with ifconfig command, it's there with
label "Bcast:", so you can paste it to the kaffeine input box). However,
I still think that you don't need this functionality, so simply to disable the
client will be enough.
Maybe I'm wrong and you are getting different things than I'm writing about.
For example, some windows don't appear as I write or something other goes
wrong, which I cannot predict. If this is the case, please let me know, we can
continue with fixing your kaffeine.
With regards, Pavel Troller
I hope this will help some of you.
