system settings crash in KDE 3.5.8 upgrade

    Hello,

AFTER upgrading from KDE 3.5.6 to KDE 3.5.8, using the kde.org mirror. the System Settings app (on the main menu) crashes. I am getting this problem EVERY time I try to launch System Settings. KControl still works.

Tried uninstalling & reinstalling 'systemsettings' in Adept... no change.

    I'm running Kubuntu 7.04 64-bit on an AMD XP 3600 X2 dual-core cpu.

TIA if anyone knows how to fix this.

    Andre

It's been reported as a 'bug' on launchpad. I too, have this problem since upgrading to KDE 3.5.8

You can still access the individual applications via kcontrol (Alt+F2 and type kcontrol).

      Thanks!

Do you know if this is also a problem in the new 7.10 Gutsy release?

System settings seems to work fine on gutsy (I still prefer kcontrol though), so it's probably a problem with feisty only.
