SOLVED! KDE 3.5.8 - System Settings crashes on select

Okay, this one is new to me. I upgraded KDE to Release 3.5.8 last night. All appears to be fine, except that when I try to access System Settings (K Menu | System Settings) I get a Crash Handler pop-up:

"The application System Settings (systemsettings) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

An application mostly receives the SIGSEGV signal due to a bug in the application.
    "

I can run kcontrol (Alt+F2) and access the separate components of System Settings. Has anyone who upgraded to KDE 3.5.8 had a similar experience, and if you did, were you able to isolate and correct the problem?

    Thanks.

This apparently is a 'bug' and has been reported on launchpad by numerous people.
