    compiz

    I'm using kubuntu feistyfawn.
    i)How can I install compiz-fusion?

ii)Also Is there any way I can read & write from windows drives?

iii)In windows we can view the services running in the background and stop memory consuming ones(like indexing) from the services option. Is there any such option in kubuntu?

iv)How do I update the program files?

I'm pretty new to kubuntu so I appreciate help for at least one of my questions.

        Re: compiz

Assuming the Windows drive(s) you are interested in are NTFS formatted, this guidance is generally applicable:

        http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3084679.0

With internal hard drives, you will not have the problem of "moving" device IDs that you have with USB drives, but the method for determining the UUID and using it to add a mount line to your /etc/fstab file is the same.

Do you have FAT or NTFS in windoze?
(I use windoze only for gaming these days so i just stick to FAT)

You could post your /etc/fstab file so we can see what is set up.

You can mount win partitions in konqueror, toolbar on the left, the flag at bottom
