Hello All:
I wonder if someone would be wiling to help a newbie with a minor but annoying problem.
I recently switched to Kubuntu from an older version of Mandriva, in which I'd had the game LGeneral installed for a long time--I'm a bit of an addict.
In Mandriva, I had installed LGeneral like every other program and it worked fine, with all the data files ready to go, simply from the Mandriva (rpm-based) installer.
The version of LGeneral that Kubuntu installs, however, is installed without teh data files, and the only help I can find involves rather obscure directions for converting Panzer General data files, which are a bit beyond me as a beginner.
Hence, a couple of questions:
1. Why does LGeneral install without the data files in Ubuntu when it is automatically installed with data files in the rpm and windows versions?
2. Is there a way to install LGeneral WITH its game data that a newbie with limited linux experience might be able to understand and implement?
Thanks!
M Bruce
