Got a strange one here I am hoping someone might help me with.
I have a HP Compaq 6715b with an ATI Radeon X1200 series chip set in it. I have installed the the ATI Binary drivers on the system with no problems. X runs beautiful and every thing runs well until I log out and log back in....
When I first login and fire up KInfoCenter, it lists the right ATI drivers for OpenGL. Yet when I logout and log back in it lists the Mesa OpenGL Indirect Rendering driver... And yes things run slow and a number of apps like kaffine freak out....
Now if I restart kdm (/etc/init.d/kde stop; /etc/init.d/kdm start) it loads the right drivers and everything works as it should.
I have yet to be able to figure out what KDM is doing to disable the ATI rendering engine, but if anyone has any ideas I would be greatly appreciative...
Regards
Randall
