K9copy unable to write iso

I have been using K9copy to shrink some DVDs, but it fails at the end of the process when it comes time to write the iso.
Is there something more that I need to do to enable iso write support?
genisoimage is installed.

I think the package is called mkisofs:

Dummy transition package for genisoimage
This is a dummy package to ease the transition to genisoimage, the
fork of mkisofs. It provides a mkisofs symlink to genisoimage for
compatibility purposes. Please use genisoimage instead of mkisofs.

Does this mean that I need mkisofs as well for K9copy to find the newer package?

I believe K9copy looks for mkisofs and since it doesn't really exist anymore it just provides a link to genisoimage.

cant convert iso

this is a stupid question

i have a kubuntu iso i want to convert and put on a disk. i want to be able to
convert it,put it on a disk and put it in the drive so i can restart my pc and have the
fancy welcome screem and all that jazz.

any software that can help me

I assume you mean burn to a cd/dvd? What app do you use to burn now? As long as you burn it as an image and not a data file you should be ok. Nero or Roxio or most popular burning app will do this. There are also many free ones. You also have to make sure your pc can boot from the cd/dvd drive. You can set this in the bios or by entering the boot menu while the machine is booting.
