Tray icons foolishly removed....

Hello All,
I've only recently installed Kubuntu (7.04), and i'm highly impressed. I won't be going back to XP, which had suffered a terminal BSOD and i couldn't restore it from a Ghost image, nor would it re-install.

When i first installed Kubuntu there were two icons in the tray which i removed, and now regret doing so, they were the Adept update notifier, and one to disconnect the connection and work offline, but i can't seem to find how to re-enable them.

Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Alternatively, you can launch adept notifier manually:

Alt+F2, adept_notifier and enter

It should ask whether you wish it to start automatically (choose yes)

Snowhog, thanks for that link.... i'd wondered what that green bubble was.

Kubicle, i did that, the hourglass appeared, and went away but Adept never appeared. I assume that - as a green bubble appears at boot - it's running anyway.

Thanks for those recommendations.

Yup...the icon appears when there are updates available...you can check that adept_notifier is running by hitting Ctrl+Esc.

I assume you mean knetworkmanager?
You can start it manually as well...if you close it it should also ask whether it should be run automatically (although I can't check atm as I don't have it installed)
