Double Click Desktop to Open File Browser

    Hi,

when I use to use WinXP I had a File Browser called Directory Opus installed and there are a lot of features it had that I miss in Linux, but one very useful function was if I double clicked the desktop it would open the file browser, is it possible to set Linux when I double click the desktop to open the default File Browser (either Dolphin or Konqueror) , as I use XGL for Compiz I would like to get this to work with standard and XGL + Compiz if possible

    Thanks,

You can use mouse gestures. KDE has it built in.

    I tried this:

    K > System Settings > Accessibility --> Input Actions

    Press Global Settings button
Goto Gesture Settings. Enable mouse gestures globally.
Choose which mouse button do you want to use with gestures.

Click Preset Actions in Actions screen then click New Action button

    In General tab
    Action name: Start Konqueror

    In Triggers tab
New > Gesture trigger -> (window pops up) Draw the gesture you would like to record below....

    In Actions tab
New > Command/URL to execute (window pops up) Put there: kfmclient openProfile filemanagement

    Note
That will open konqueror in home folder with file management profile.

    Press Apply

    Test
