k3b hangs...

Hi i have a problem with k3b, it just hangs, in fact linux hangs ... (i thought that was not possible ).

I installed gnomebaker, witch works ok, sow the hardware must be ok right?. I also tried nerolinux, witch work also. But i really like k3b. I even tried to compile k3b "by hand" and that went ok, but the hang problem is still here.

The drive is a nec nr-9500a

Someone give me a hint?

PS: I think kubuntu rocks!, havent used win for a month now

oops i guess i'm kinda stupid, i have no jumper at all on the back of my drive, i configured my drive as master, and k3b starts just normal..
