Hello


My kubuntu is looking a bit dull lately so i was looking on www.kde-look.org/ and i was looking at some themes and windows decorations how do i install them from a file


please help I'm trying to get kubuntu to be to at my liking

It syas i need compiz fusion and emerald WHAT DOES IT do and do they have a .deb version where i can right click and install i really need to know

Compiz is a XGL window-manager, and usually found together with emerald, a window-decoration manager. (borders, etc).

It's pretty advanced stuff for someone who's new to it to get this up and running, so I'll leave that decision up to you.

1. get beryl with adept installer
2. get the emerald theme manager to have the top bar on the windows
3. get a caps images, any image works
4. get a skydome image, the only images that work are 1024x1240
5. use KDE look to get a cool background
6. get a theme
7. if you are interested, you can change you system sounds, my computer plays Iron Man when I boot, when I get an error my computer plays a voice clip that says
Doh!

How do i do it tho i ave got beryl and emerald yes thats cool but how do i install a full theme

There are instructions online at KDE look when you get a theme, look on the page of the theme and to the right

I have got windows decorations and a cuba and all that but how do i get a theme for the taskbar (windows talk) the botom bit

Got it
Go to configure panel
and then under panel background you will see a file, download a panel image and upload it this will change the default image of the panel, as for size and icons and other stuff see Pimp you Kubuntu

Note the task bar in KDE is known as kicker
