I got beryl on here, ran it, whitescreened (cursor still there, nothing locked up, just everything but cursor is white)... I then installed the official driver, which made direct-rendering a yes, but still no-go. I then installed XGL, rebooted, started an XGL session and tried beryl, which provided me a brandy new error...
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
Major opcode: 149
Minor opcode: 3
Resource id: 0x0
Failed to open device
Googling for this error gives only 2 pages and some are not even about *buntu they are trap sites with millions of random keywords and such... needless to say not a common problem? If I use beryl-manager to switch it switches to nothing then switches back to the KDE one... Damnit
