installing php with gd?!

Hi,
I'm pretty new to linux and kubuntu so I have a Newbie question. I apologize if this is not the appropriate section but, as already stated, I am pretty clueless :P

I need PHP with gd (picture manipulation library) but have no idea how to set it up. I spent most of last three days reading stuff from the Internet and have found no answers.

Any help appreciated

Do you have apache and PHP installed already and wish to add the gd module, or a fresh setup?

If apache etc are already working then just install the "php5-gd" package.

If you're starting from scratch: "apache2" and "php5" are good ones to look at...!

I had apache and php up and running.

I did as suggested and, naturally, everything is ok now.
