    gnucash-2.2.1installing

    Hi list,

    Using Kubuntu 7.04.

    Downloaded gnucash 2.2.1installed all the necessary files (I think);
    went to the gnucash directory, sudo ./configure (+password) and got the following message

    checking for SLIB support... configure: error:

    Cannot find SLIB. Are you sure you have it installed?
    See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347922

    slib is installed at:

    /usr/bin/slib;usr/XIIR6/bin/slib;usr/XII/slib; /usr/shareslib;usr/local/share/guile/1.6, where there is a file =! slib

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks dgr

    Was there a reason that you chose to install gnucash package for installation without using Adept Manager?

    This is one of the problems one can encounter with downloading and attempting to install package files outside of Adept Manager. You may want to try the installation by selecting it from within Adept Manager.

          Follow the instructions to add new repositories (editing /etc/apt/sources.list) described in www.ubuntuguide.org. After that you'll only need this:

          sudo apt-get install gnucash.

          or use Adept manager and, after adding the repositories, you'll find it there.

          best
