Beryl won't function

    Beryl won't function

    i followed all the steps on the Wiki for Beryl but it won't load
    i used the AIGLX method on my Kubuntu unit. it's has a ATI Radeon 9600 Card and about 720mb of system memory.

    this is what terminal spits out everytime i run the beryl manager

    Please any help is good but try to explain thing to me cuz i'm still new to Linux, i'm a former Windows user, lol.

        Its an ATi Radeon 9600 XT with a Sapphire chipset. its also has 256 mb of on board ram (just for the graphics card).

          just remember that this link is in active, i had to use an internet archive to see it. the beryl Wiki is down.

            I threw in the towel after fighting Linux drivers for my ATI card, and bought an Nvidia.

            However, you have a better Radeon than I did -- it should work well if you can crack the secret formula. Here's some guidance that might help: http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_fei...ryl_ati_radeon

              I tried beryl with fglrx (+ Xgl) but not with ati (+ AIGLX) drivers.

                No I didn't meant what graphic card you're using - I like to know which driver! Because I had problems with AIGLX and the "ati" driver. With "radeon" it worked like a charm!
