    Missing Libraries

    For the package wxAstroCapture the libraries libwxbase2.9-0-ansi and libwxgtk2.8-0-ansi are required. I cannot find them to install. When I do "sudo apt-get install libwxgtk2.8-0-ansi" I get the reply "E: Couldn't find package libwxgtk2.8-0-ansi" for both libraries. How do I download these libraries?

    Re: Missing Libraries

    searching for libwx stuff, i get:
    Code:
    $ apt-cache search libwx
    libwxbase2.4-1 - wxBase library (runtime) - non-GUI support classes of wxWindows toolkit
    libwxbase2.4-dbg - wxBase library (debug) - non-GUI support classes of wxWindows toolkit
    libwxbase2.4-dev - wxBase library (development) - non-GUI support classes of wxWindows toolkit
    libwxbase2.6-0 - wxBase library (runtime) - non-GUI support classes of wxWidgets toolkit
    libwxbase2.6-dbg - wxBase library (debug) - non-GUI support classes of wxWidgets toolkit
    libwxbase2.6-dev - wxBase library (development) - non-GUI support classes of wxWidgets toolkit
    libwxbase2.8-0 - wxBase library (runtime) - non-GUI support classes of wxWidgets toolkit
    libwxbase2.8-dbg - wxBase library (debug) - non-GUI support classes of wxWidgets toolkit
    libwxbase2.8-dev - wxBase library (development) - non-GUI support classes of wxWidgets toolkit
    libwxgtk2.4-1 - wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ runtime)
    libwxgtk2.4-1-contrib - wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (runtime contrib libs)
    libwxgtk2.4-contrib-dev - wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (development contrib libs)
    libwxgtk2.4-dbg - wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ development)
    libwxgtk2.4-dev - wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ development)
    libwxgtk2.6-0 - wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ runtime)
    libwxgtk2.6-dbg - wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ development)
    libwxgtk2.6-dev - wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ development)
    libwxgtk2.8-0 - wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ runtime)
    libwxgtk2.8-dbg - wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ development)
    libwxgtk2.8-dev - wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ development)
    you therefore have libwxbase2.8-0 and libwxgtk2.8-0.
    and they should be the newest stuff available.
    try install these two.

    EDIT:
    libwxgtk2.8-0 should be alright. at worst it's just a naming issue.
    and we should be able to fix it with a symbolic link or something.

    libwxbase2.8-0, being an earlier version than the one required,
    will not, most likely, work.
