Running WinXP inside vmware-server

Hello,

I am running /a legal copy/ of WinXP inside vmware-server only so I can connect to my workplace. My question is when I start WinXP, it always says I need to do the updates. Should I be applying the XP patches inside my VM?

I don't -- but I also don't use the Win XP session for Internet business. Probably I would be a little more careful if I were browsing or using it for e-mail and stuff like that.

Widows is still prone to get infected by viruses and trojans etc with VMware. If you need to be connected to the outside world you should keep it up yo date.

Think of the VM as a real machine - since this is what the "OS inside" believes to be installed on ... you get the idea.
