    Re: Installing downloaded programs

Errrrrrrrrr --- well, I don't know your kweather app -- I don't think you're going to get a weather report from those sites -- but then maybe KDE users do it that way!

Try it -- I don't think it will hurt anything.

If it doesn't work, just do Alt-F2, type "kweather", and see what happens. You may need to connect to a server somewhere for it to get the weather report -- I dunno.

      Re: Installing downloaded programs

Kweather is actually an applet not an application. Right click on your panel and goto panel menu, add applet to panel and find "weather". The applet will be added to your panel. You can then right click on the applet to configure.

The panel (or dock) across the bottom of your screen with the icons in it. You can right click anywhere on it to add to it via the panel menu.

I did download this yesterday, but when I did an edit of these 2 files and saved a new file and icon was made, and than it did not work, lol

I had to edit it and add my airport info in it st petersburg fl. it was set to alt ga.

any I am a member of weather underground and I guess I will just use their website, its a lot easier.

Thank you for all your info as it was a great learning tool.

                        Re: Installing downloaded programs

Probably "kweather". It's usually the name of the program (but there are exceptions...)

Have you tried Intellicast.com? That's the one I use.

I use weather.gov. Enter my ZIP code and I have forecast, things like windspeed, radar, and satellite pictures. Don't need any software or registration.
