SOLVED - Bacula on Kubuntu 7.04

    Hello everyone,

I've been an OpenSuse user for quite some time now, but decided to switch to Kubuntu. The install went perfect, although it took some time to get the wireless going (so what else is new with a broadcom card).

I was at least smart enough to back up my data on OpenSuse before loading Kubuntu. I've been using Bacula for backups on WinXP and Linux and it's been working great.

Now my problem. I've loaded (and unloaded) Bacula on Kubuntu several times, but I just can't get that puppy going. I've only loaded the client and tray-monitor. I can connect from Kubuntu to my Director, but can't connect from the server machine to my Kubuntu client. Get the ole' "GETHOSTBY" failure.

I started with Bacula 1.38, but deleted that and tried the 2.0.3 load. One thing I do notice is with OpenSuse I had the little "cassette" tray-icon show up. But no luck with Kubuntu.

Is anyone else using Bacula on Kubuntu?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Oops... Pick up foot..ready, aim, FIRE!

I had ports 9101-9103 blocked in IPTABLES. I allowed those ports in my local lan and it's working perfectly now.
